Porcelain Veneers FAQ's

Porcelain veneers are one of the new and astounding procedures offered by cosmetic dentists. They are an easy solution for a variety of dental defects:

• Small chips and cracks
• Gaps between front teeth
• Discoloration and spots
• Slight misalignment
• Slight crookedness
• Uneven sizing

Once you have had your initial consultation with Dentist, Dr. Worthington and determined that porcelain veneers are the best way to go, there are just two easy visits to complete the process.

First Visit

Dr. Worthington will give you a thorough dental exam if he has not done so already. He will prepare the teeth to be veneered, removing a very thin layer of tooth enamel to make space for the veneer. (If you are having Lumineers, enamel removal is not necessary.)

He will take digital photos, and an impression of the teeth, and will send these along with other relevant data to the dental laboratory that will custom-craft your veneers. Temporary veneers are fabricated so that you can carry on normally between visits.

Second Visit

Dr. Worthington will position your new veneers with a try in paste to test them for fit and comfort. You can examine them in a mirror and when you are both satisfied, he will bond them permanently to your teeth. They are now part of those teeth, providing new surfaces and a transforming your smile.

Your porcelain veneers need only the same daily care you give your natural teeth. Brush and floss them daily and come for your regular dental check-ups and cleanings, and your veneers will give you many years of good service.
